WAYS OF GETTING EXTRA MARKS

March 20, 2010

Include a range of IT skills – word processing, scanning, digital photography, Internet downloads, computer aided drawing – Corel, Paint etc.

Present work neatly and in an orderly way with headings clearly marked (use a flip file)

Include lots of evaluative comments – perhaps highlight these with the heading underlined in one colour throughout – you could use the same idea for safety issues (another colour).

Give your project a title page/cover and index.

DEADLINE REMINDER!!!!!!!

February 27, 2010

Don’t forget your deadline is WEDNESDAY 31ST MARCH….

All folder and practical work must be in by this date!!!

Good luck

Evaluation

February 20, 2010

Your evaluation MUST relate to the specification, take each point in turn and comment as to whether or not you have met it. If you met it – say how, if you didn’t – say why? Did you change your mind? How could you meet it next time? Etc. If you made any changes (modifications) then mention them and say why.

Photograph the product in use and also any key features – things that went well, things you could improve.

You must either test the product yourself or ask the potential user – have you been successful?

Comment in terms of :

FUNCTION           AESTHETICS                 COST          QUALITY etc.

How did you control the quality?  – (checking seams, stitching, lining things up etc.

How would they do things differently in industry? How would they make your product on a larger scale?

What safety precautions did you have to take?

Development

February 20, 2010

Think of the development stage as an oppotunity to experiement with techniques and materials; ensure you evaluate each process you try and ensure you explain why you have chosen one process over the others
